To Organize (2015)
Tomrom: group exhibition at Sandefjord Kunstforening. Curated by Maria Veie
09.05.15 – 08.06.15. Site specific soundinstallation.
To Organize is a site-specific sound installation shown at TOMROM: Sandefjord Kunstforening 09.05.15 – 07.06.15. The piece was shown outside next to Sandefjord City Hall and Sandefjords main park: “Badeparken”. The location functions as a walkway to the towns main hotel. The work is based on recordings of movements in the parks trees, and explores hidden sound and the continuous changes in the soundscapes surrounding the exhibition area. Some of the recordings have been modified others left untouched. The material is then played back through sound transducers mounted to a cut local black alder. This way the acoustic properties of the split tree stem contribute to shape the sound. The soundmaterial is triggered by a certain degree of randomness. This way the soundwork keeps changing. To Organize is the second piece in an ongoing series of works (Treverk) based on sound recordings of miniscule movements in trees. Link to the Tomrom catalog.
The artists in the exhibition: Aiko Tezuka, Anders Sletvold Moe, Andreas Tellefsen, Christina Leithe Hansen, Ignas Krunglevicius, Iselin Linstad Hauge, Marianne Heier, Marit Roland, Mattias Härenstam, Joakim Blattmann, Rikke Lundgreen, Sam Smith, Tanja Koljonen, Perla Montelongo og Viktor Bedö.
