Møre og Romsdal Kunstsenter, group show, Molde (NO)
03.06 – 27.08.2023
The work documents the complexity of the sound information found in nature, based on audio recordings of minuscule movements in the forest floor, root systems, trees and a marsh. Bioelectrical signals from the installations materials controls and shapes the sound in the gallery space.
Surface transducers have been attached to the installations materials allowing the audio to be affected by the sculptures in real time.
The trees used in the work were already felled or had broken due to heavy winds, snow, or wood rot before I began working with them.
The wood is returned to its place of origin after the exhibition period, allowing it to continue decomposing, serve as a host for various species, and fertilize the forest floor.
