Buskerud Kunstsenter, solo show, Drammen (NO)
23.02 – 20.03.2022
Treverk is an ongoing series of installations based on audio recordings of small movements in trees. Bioelectrical signals from some of the installations trees controls and shapes the soundmaterial in the gallery space.
Surface transducers have been attached to the stems, allowing the sound to be affected by the wood in real time, making the trees integral parts of the installations speakers.
The trees used in the Treverk series were already felled or had broken due to heavy winds, snow, or wood rot before I began working with them. No trees were cut by me to create these works.
The wood is returned to its place of origin after the exhibition period, allowing it to continue decomposing, serve as a host for various species, and fertilize the forest floor.
